Sudden Death

This disease is caused by Clostridium novyi, a gram-positive, anaerobic, pathogenic and ubiquitous bacterium. It has soil as its habitat and remains for a long period of time, until it finds favorable conditions to develop and, from there, release toxins. It is classified into 04 types (A-D) and has its variations according to the toxins produced. The most relevant is Clostridium novyi B, because in addition to producing the alpha toxin, it also produces the beta toxin, which has a hemolytic, necrotic and potentially lethal action. The most effective prevention mechanism is vaccination.
